The Lovely Sparrows

We are happy we were included on the new Natrix Natrix compilation, alongside such awesome artists/bands as Jana Hunter, Deer Tick, Karrie Hopper, Spencer Kingman, Nat Baldwin, and Viking Moses. The song we recorded is called “While I was out sailing” and is unreleased.

Other news: The full length is well under way. After the minor setback of the stolen laptop, we’re back on track (almost). I’ll be in Oklahoma City recording some string parts in the next few weeks. Hooray for progress.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows in Brooklyn. We never expected such great crowds on our first trip to NY. We appreciate all the help we received with lost/replacement gear, and to the bands that let us borrow their amps and/or drumkits. Also, you should check out Amber Papini/Trumpet, our new favorite band to play with!

And a personal note to the person who stole Shawn’s laptop (which contained tons of demos, and several songs from the new album) at the airport, echoed in the vernacular of our favorite Brooklyn cabbie : “Fuck you very much.”
